The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, says transparency remains a critical determinant of sustainable national development.

He stated this in Abuja at the 35th anniversary celebration of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, during its Anti-Corruption Day programme. 

Represented by the ICPC Director of Public Education, Demola Bakare, the Chairman said countries that achieve sustainable growth are those that deliberately build systems anchored on clear rules. He noted that the work of the CAC in promoting corporate transparency directly strengthens national transparency.

Dr. Aliyu added that the CAC has driven key reforms that support national development, particularly through digitisation and improved access to corporate information, which he said enhances market confidence and supports anti-corruption efforts via beneficial ownership transparency.

He further reaffirmed the commitment of the ICPC, CAC, and other stakeholders to openness, integrity, and sustainable development, describing transparency as essential to Nigeria’s long-term progress.
