HEAD OF SERVICE URGES MID-LEVEL OFFICERS TO DRIVE REFORMS, IMPROVE SERVICE

ABUJA, The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has urged officers on grade levels 8 to 14 to take ownership of ongoing civil service reforms and improve service delivery.

Abel gave the charge during an engagement with staff of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in Abuja.

He described officers on grade levels 8 to 14 as key drivers of the civil service, saying they play a critical role in translating government policies into action.

‎He said the knowledge, competence and commitment of officers are vital to the effectiveness and growth of the service.

‎Abel urged the officers to embrace continuous learning and self-development and to build expertise in their areas of work.

‎He encouraged them to ask questions, seek knowledge and remain open to learning.

“The knowledge, competence and commitment of individual officers remain fundamental to the effectiveness and sustainability of the Service,” he said.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Common Services Office, Danjuma Usman Kalba, commended the head of service for meeting directly with mid-level officers.

‎He said the engagement showed the leadership’s commitment to listening to staff and building a stronger civil service.

The session allowed officers to raise concerns, share views and make suggestions on their work and welfare.

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service said the meeting reflects its commitment to an open and responsive workplace.
